W G Shenton Plumbing and Heating Ltd. (‘we’ or ‘us’) collect, use and are responsible for certain personal information about you. We collect personal information in order to identify you and manage any accounts that you may hold with us, which may then enable us to process your enquiry and order such as:-

The information stored and held by us provides us with detailed information of previous services supplied by us, together with dates. This gives us an overall view of all past work carried out on a property.

- For transferring information to organisations as and when required for Warranties, Gas/Electrical Notifications, Building Regulations, legally or otherwise.
Who your information may be shared with

- Equipment Manufacturers for Warranty purposes (where approved by you)
- Gas Safe Register
- NAPIT
- Other organisations relating to buildings and fitments
- Law enforcement agencies in connection with any investigation to help prevent unlawful activity
- If you no longer wish us to hold your personal data then you have the rights, detailed in this Privacy Policy.
How long your personal information will be kept
There are various legal requirements and professional guidelines about keeping certain records, such as information for income tax and audit purposes, together with information on health and safety. These guidelines are maintained. We do however keep customer records and property service information longer than those guidelines, as this enables us to respond to queries from longstanding returning customers relating to past service on a property.
Should you wish your records to be removed, please contact us immediately and we will do so, unless there is a legal reason for us to maintain that data.
Keeping your information secure
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We will also use technological and organisation measures to keep your information secure.
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
